The photo was shared by a Facebook user in Australia last week showing a frog with a disturbingly huge p’en’is , but there’s just one problem – frogs don’t have penises.
Experts suggest the protruding appendage is a partially formed extra leg growing between its two hind limbs.The post by Facebook user Keith Leech, aptly captioned ‘What the frog,’ shares three bizarre photos showing the underside of a frog, which is seemingly equipped with a massive penis.Gerry Marantelli from the Australian Amphibian Research Centre told BuzzFeed News;
It’s impossible to know what the growth truly is without seeing the potential frog dong first-hand, but Marantelli believes the extra leg theory to be the most likely.
“It’s not a penis, frogs don’t have them, but penises did evolve from ‘legs’ during embryonic development so an extra leg is part way there,” he said.
“Amphibians in one way likely invented the penis (albeit not the modern one).”
