NFF fines heavily on Enyimba, Lobi Stars (See Why)

The Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee has upheld the League Management Company’s decision to sanction league champions Enyimba, after three of its players were adjudged to have attacked the chairman of Warri Wolves, Moses Etu.

The former players of the Warri Wolves, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Abdul Aziz and Joseph Osadiaye, who are now with Enyimba, alleged they were still owed by their former team.

Trouble eventually started at the Umuahia Township Stadium at the end of the Week 20 match when Ibenegbu and others accosted Etu during the post-match interview, demanding to be paid their money.

Following their act, the NFF Disciplinary Committee directed Enyimba to formally apologize to the management of Warri Wolves.

However, the NFF Disciplinary Committee has told the team to pay N500,000 fine instead of initial N750,000 handed by the LMC
