Again, ‘Blame it on Experience’ makes it to the Final in Otukpo
For the record 3rd time, the defending champions of Mark D Ball tournament have made it to the final stage in the ongoing Basketball competition holding in Otukpo.
In the match decided last night, Experience, who have won the trophy twice strived to keep up their points by defeating the Bethlehem warriors with 66 goals to 47.
Also in the Male category of semifinal earlier decided, the Braves punched the almighty ESPN of Otukpo to qualify for the finals.
In the female category, the Sweeties of Makurdi ended the dream of the team Bayelsa from becoming champions.
The Makurdi female team came hard on the Bayelsa babes by pushing home 40 goals against 36.
Also, the U-17 humiliated the Future Drive in the second semifinals with 44 goals against 17.
Meanwhile, matches to decide the 3rd place champions in the tournament shall be played this morning with team Bayelsa taking on the Future Drive by 8am in the Female category while ESPN of Otukpo shall slug it out with Bethlehem in the male category.
The finals shall be decided in the evening with Sweeties of Makurdi taking on U-17 national female team while the defending champions, Experience shall fight to retain their trophy in their encounter with the Braves.
Addressing Journalists shortly after the semifinals, one of the players in Experience team, Mr. Igoche Mark said he was optimistic his team would go home with the trophy.
Mr. Igoche who has played for both local and international clubs and has contributed greatly to the success of his team, said the Experience team has made adequate preparations for the tournament and would try their best in their last encounter to take home the trophy tonight.
The trophy shall be presented to the champions this night when the grand finale of this year’s Mark D Ball tournament is expected to hold, with the Sponsor of the tournament, Senator David Mark and other guests in attendant.
Top Nigerian Artists are also expected to groove the audience under the leadership of the indigenous Terry G.
