In his description of the gun, Zimmerman says;
‘Prospective bidders, I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon.’
‘The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012.’
The 32-year-old was acquitted of the charges after the fatal shooting of Martin in 2012.He made headlines after shooting the unarmed 17-year-old on February 26, 2012, during a neighborhood patrol inside a gated community in Sanford, Florida.
The case shocked the nation, sparking protests across the country with demonstrators demanding Zimmerman’s arrest and a full investigation.
On July 13 the following year, he was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter.
