Benue South rerun: Ortom, APC set to burn down INEC Office in Makurdi on Thursday.
Plot by the governor Samuel Ortom led government and the All Progressive Congress ( (APC) in Benue state to burn down the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) in Makurdi the state capital has been exposed. Credible information available to the media indicates that the Ortom led APC government unsettled with the election of the former Senate President Senator David Mark has put machinery in motion to compel INEC to change the result to favour APC. He has therefore mandated the state Deputy Governor Benson Abounu to lead the protest to INEC during which would culminate in razing down the edifice if the electoral umpire fails to reverse the result. Already , each of the nine local government caretaker committee has been directed to provide two coaster buses to move hired protesters to Makurdi the state capital. Ortom, it was learnt has arranged to be out of town during the planned protest to be led by Abounu. INEC has insisted that it conducted the rerun election and declared Senator Mark the winner within the am bits of the law.
